Christian Apologetics Resources
Atheists state that ultimately nothing matters, and use arguments from science, reason, morality and evil to support their position. Turek’s position is that Atheist are actually stealing from God to provide evidence for their assertions.
Christian Apologist, John Lipton, once said that the 'New Atheists' often put up a “Straw-God” Argument…Fighting a God structured from their own beliefs rather than the God of the Bible.
Frank Turek’s primary point is that atheists must steal from God to make their arguments.
He uses the Acrostic C.R.I.M.E.S. to represent the evidences cited in support the atheistic view that actual show that God exists.
C= Causality
R= Reason
I- Information and Intentionality
M= Morality
E= Evil
S= Science
All of these aspects of reality have an immaterial foundation grounded in God. Therefore when atheist cite any of them to support atheism they are stealing from God in order to argue against him.
Atheist use the immaterial while saying there is no immaterial, and frequently exempt themselves from their own theories.
Frank Turek closed the session by introducing the leading Atheist thought leaders and shared quotes that describe how they intend to reach and influence the younger generation and the culture at large.
Richard Dawkins
Author, The God Delusion, 2006
“When one person suffers from a delusion, it is called insanity. When many people suffer from a delusion it is called Religion. If this book works as intended, religious readers who open it will be atheist when they put it down.”
“The God of the Old Testament is arguably the most unpleasant character in all fiction: jealous and proud of it; a petty, unjust, unforgiving control-freak; a vindictive, bloodthirsty ethnic cleanser, a misogynistic, homophobic, racist, infanticidal, genocidal, filicidal, pestilential, megalomaniacal, sadomasochistic, capriciously malevolent bully.”
Daniel Dennett,
Professor, Tuffs University
“They will see me as just another liberal professor trying to cajole them out of some of their convictions and they are are dead right about that — That’s what I am, and that’s exactly what I am trying to do.”
Richard McKay Rorty
(October 4, 1931 - June 8, 2007) was an American philosopher.
“…we (the professors) try to arrange things so that students who enter as bigoted, homophobic, religious fundamentalists, will leave college with views more like our own…”
So we are going to go right on trying to discredit you in the eyes of your children, trying to strip your fundamentalist religious community of dignity, trying to make your views seem rather silly rather than discussable.”
Steven Weinberg
Professor UT Austin
“I personally feel that the teaching of modern science is corrosive of religious belief, and I’m all for that. If scientists can destroy the influence of religion on young people, then I think it may be the most important contribution we can make.”
David Silverman,
President of American Atheists
“God is a myth, and reason is inherently atheistic.”
Christopher Hitchens
Author, God Id Not Great
(13 April 1949 - 15 December 2011)
"I consider it to be morally superior to be an atheist …I would rather be without that ghastly master-slave mentality of religion.”
We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ
